Robert Penn Warren

Robert Penn Warren (1905–1989) was the only writer in American history to win Pulitzer Prizes in both fiction and poetry. Born in Guthrie, Kentucky, he studied at Vanderbilt, Berkeley, Yale, and Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and became one of the founding figures of the New Criticism alongside Cleanth Brooks.
